The Good Life

This is my first post in this cute little blog that I wish to create. I actually have a second blog called "{thrifty} vintage kitchen" (thriftyvintagekitchen.blogspot.com), but sometimes I want to blog about other things besides thrifty vintage finds. I want to blog about things going on in my life (if anyone cares to read about it) and I want to blog about things that I think about. I just got married on August 6th to my high school sweetheart and the love of my life. He is a United States Marine and I am suuuper proud of him. He will be deploying soon to go overseas for a second time, so I thought another blog would be perfect to keep me busy and it will hopefully be something that he can read when we can't have other communication. I want this blog to tell about my life as a newlywed. But enough of that---first---some wedding photos!!!! :) I had the best photogapher ever.

At our wedding, we tried to add a lot of personal touches. We bought all of the cakes and flowers from the farmer's market (saving a lot of money!) and I made burlap table runners myself. I added a vintage handkerchief to a rananculus bouquet that I purchased from Etsy. We had multiple homemade desserts on antique cake plates and most of the decorations were purchased either from etsy, or an antique market. And my mom and I also made a lot of the decorations ourselves, which I love.

The name of this blog was inspired by One Republic's song "The Good Life." I thought it would be fitting because life with my husband, Duke, will be more than good.....it will be great! And we will be in this good life together.

Thanks for reading my little blog. :) Please come back soon.

Note: My wedding photos were taken by Andrea Mills Photograpy. She has a blog here: http://amillsphotos.blogspot.com/
